Banana Cake Disaster

I made a cake today, banana with caramel frosting. One of the layers split in 3 pieces. It's not pretty but it tastes great. The layers were not evenly proportioned and the large layer came apart.

Viva Diva

We watched Animal Planet's broadcast of the April 2009 Harrisburg Kennel Club Dog Show last night. Diva the pug won the toy group and made it to the finals. Blazing Star, a doberman pinscher, won best in show.Mouse the bulldog won the non-sporting group. He is called Mouse because he has mouse ear markings on his backside.

Shaq and Ben

Shaq is filming a reality series and will face Big Ben in football. Shaq is 7'-1/2" and weighs 325 lbs. Big Ben is 6'-5" and weighs 241 lbs.

DCI Houston

The LNG Sokoto pulled in to the canal this week.

We went to a DCI show in Houston last night.

Here is Santa Clara Vanguard. They got the first standing ovation of the night.


The Blue Devils performed the encore performance. The final ratings for the night were Blue Devils - 1, Cavaliers - 2 and Santa Clara Vanguard - 3.

Chair Pug

Blackberry Tea

I made some blackberry tea today from some frozen berries picked over a month ago. The berries really lose some of their coloring in the freezer. I mashed the berries, added the tea, and let it set for an hour.
Then I strained the tea and added sugar and water. This is an excellent recipe to use.
